Lake Kerr is located in Marion County and is one of Florida’s sinkhole lakes. It was was formed over time by the erosion of limestone. The small lake sits within the Ocala National Forest. Moorhead Park, found on the shoreline of the lake, offers multiple recreation opportunities. The park provides a free public boat ramp to the lake. It also has great bank fishing opportunities, a picnic area, and restrooms. Other activities to be enjoyed on the lake include sailing, kayaking, water skiing, and nature-watching.
Because the lake is located within the Ocala National Forest, visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, camping, picnicking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, hunting, birding watching, and wildlife viewing within the forest. |
